Break From Blogging
I have not posted much here over the last month or so. While I have had a thought or two that seemed post~ worthy, nothing seemed to come of them. From the day I began this blog, I never wanted to post for the sake of posting. This blog belongs to God and it is His message that I always wish to convey in some way, shape or form. So in light of all that I simply have not written.
I have taken this all to prayer and feel that God is telling this Daughter that a break is called for. I believe the maxim: "You cannot give what you do not have." I am going to spend this break time in more and hopefully deeper prayer. I have also neglected my journal writing which adds so much to my spiritual life, so I need to get back into that as well.
I will be serving on the team for my archdiocese's upcoming Rachel's Vineyard weekend (Nov. 18~20) and would ask your prayers for all those coming who are seeking God's forgiveness and healing from abortion.
The last two years I have begun the new Liturgical Year by offering my readers a patron saint to be there companion during the year. I will continue that tradition and offer all of you the invitation to participate in this again this year. For those of you who are new readers of this blog, this is how it works: Leave me a comment saying you would like a saint for the new year. I will prayerfully choose a saint for you and send you the saint's name. It is your job to get to know the saint~Google him or her, perhaps read a book or two by them or of their writings. Those of you who have participated in this before know that I truly believe that the saint chooses each of us and that through prayer you come to see why that particular saint has chosen you.
Leave me a comment on this post if you wish to participate. The saints will be chosen before the first Sunday in Advent and I will send their names to you by that time so you can begin the new year with your saintly companion. If I have your e-mail, I will e-mail it to you. If I don't have an e-mail you can leave it in the comment (which I will not publish for security and privacy reasons).
As for when I will resume regular blogging~ I am hoping to return with a reflection for the First Sunday in Advent. We will see if that is God's plan as well. In the meantime please keep me in your prayers and know that you will be in mine.

I did wonder why you weren't posting as much, because before your retreat I was amazed how often you were posting between here and the CCB. I will pray for you as I am confident your desire for deeper prayer and journaling will be blessed.
I'll also pray for you, and all that attend or assist with the healing that are part of a Rachel's Vineyard weekend. Somehow I am struck that while a woman seeking healing after having an abortion is acutely aware of her need for forgiveness and peace, many of us, myself included are unaware of how often we have injured the body of Christ, and how in need we are for forgiveness and peace. God Bless You!
Between my work schedule and other commitments and circumstances, blogging has become difficult and I am feeling a bit dry in the writing area. I am sure a break with some extra prayer time will do me and my writing some good. Advent always provides me with so much inspiration so I look forward to returning during that blessed season.
Colleen (@ID), Many things bring men and women to Rachel's Vineyard. Many times it is that nothing else has "worked" to heal the symptoms of post abortion syndrome (numbness, eating disorders, addictions, the list goes on) The spiritual aspect is a key link. So bottom line whether we are aware of it or not when we walk through those doors for the retreat, we need God's forgiveness and we need to forgive ourselves. You can check out Rachelsvineyard.org for more information.
I know what you mean though about not being aware of how all of us hurt the body of Christ, even through venial sin. May the Holy Spirit always convict us of our sins so that we may turn to God for His mercy and forgiveness.
Keep an eye on your e-mails for your saints in the coming weeks.
Blessings to you both.
Could you send me a new patron this year? I love doing this! Thanks!
Enjoy your blog break :) I know that I always enjoy mine! Lol!
I find many Catholic bloggers experience the same drought of words from time to time, and it's a beautiful thing, because they seem to all be listening only for His voice.
May your time away be most fruitful, and you will be in my prayers, and your retreat as well.
I'd love to get in on the patron Saint for the year. Sounds lovely. I'm really close to only a couple of Saints, so this would be a real joy to make a new heavenly friend.
I have your email, from when you left comments on my blog, so I can email you my address, if you don't have it.
Thank you, and many blessings duing this quiet time away with your King.
Love and prayers,
Patricia
I understand the desire to pull away for awhile. You have provided much insight to me in so many ways, and I am thankful for your friendship.
I will pray, both for you and for the people attending the upcoming Rachel's Vineyard retreat.
Thanks for all you do and I would love to have you help a Saint choose me for this year!
Thanks for your prayers and words of encouragement. I will e-mail you your saints between the 21st and 27th of this month.
I hope the Rachel's Vineyard helps many people find peace. I believe the team is blessed by having you be a part of it.
Thank you for your kind words and prayers for the upcoming RV retreat. I will gladly pick a saint for you~watch your e-mail over the next two weeks.
God bless.
God Bless
Look forward to your return.
My prayers for you to have a restful and enriching time away from blogging. May you draw nearer to the Lord as you so often help us to do.
Looking forward to your return to blogging. Can't wait.
God bless.
I miss you :)
Happy Thanksgiving!!
