The Holy Family of Nazareth is truly the "prototype" of every Christian family which, united in the Sacrament of Marriage and nourished by the Word and the Eucharist, is called to carry out the wonderful vocation and mission of being the living cell not only of society but also of the Church, a sign and instrument of unity for the entire human race.

Just this morning I read that Elton John and his "partner" are adopting a child conceived by a surrogate mother. The other day, Joe Biden (our nominally Catholic vice-president) said that the legalization of "gay marriage" is inevitable. Signs of darkness and chaos. Thanks be to God for Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI.

I read these very disheartening and troubling (to put it mildly) stories as well, David. I just finished reading your post on Pope Benedict's words on the ensuing darkness and chaos in this world.
I join you in thanking God for our Holy Father. May he continue to lead us through the darkness and chaos so that we may arrive safely at our heavenly home.
