Novena To the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Today is the first day of the novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I offer you two versions by two great saints; the shorter form is the one by Saint Padre Pio who offered this prayer for those for whom he prayed. I also found another version by St. Alphonsus Liguori; it is longer and includes beautiful meditations. The links to each are found below.I have written here before about my own devotion to our Lord's Sacred Heart; I have always found great strength and comfort in this devotion. The heart of our Lord is a safe refuge. I've also included a link with the 12 Promises of Jesus to those who keep devotion to His Sacred Heart.
If you have never prayed this devotion, the novena that begins today and ends with the feast of the Sacred Heart is a good way to start.
